  • "We have 15,000 visitors through the Omaha Mounted Police facility each year and people are surprised that there is no smell at all in here...the facility still smelled fresh and clean thanks to your Stall Powder. Thanks for a great product!" - Sgt. D.C.

Recommendations from Johnell Bryant Ray

Running J Quarter Horses understands the importance of an excellent health program. Proper care and preventative maintenance of your barrel horse’s hocks are as important to your management program as an adequate deworming and vaccination schedule.
Wear and tear on the delicate joints in a barrel horses hocks is caused from the repetitive motion of making rollbacks and hard barrel turns. The synovial fluid is used up and the joints become dry causing bone to rub against bone referred to as a bony ridge spur. This occurrence can be very painful for some and can cause many bad habits in a barrel horse such as wringing the tail, running the fence on the first barrel, ducking off a barrel, refusing to complete a turn properly and refusal to enter the arena.
We begin adding Kaeco Liquid Joint Supplement to our horses’ daily feeding rations immediately upon starting their training to prevent the before mentioned hock problems.
Sometimes older horses will begin developing early signs of joint wear and we recommend having your veterinarian complete radiographs of your horse to determine if they need a joint injected with HA.
When this occurs we add another Kaeco Equine Distributor Product called Hyalogic HA Drops to the daily feed and Hyalogic Gel on weekends. Additionally Hyalogic HA Lotion is rubbed into the front joint area of the hocks on horses that have been injected with a significant improvement to their performance noted.
Stress from hauling in high temperatures of the spring and summer can sometimes cause a horse to lose their edge and often times to go off their feed. We give our horses Kaeco Oral B-12 Gel at least twice weekly throughout the hotter months and have no problems with normal heat stress issues.
Another common problem with barrel horses is becoming too excited nervous or high strung during competition. Kaeco also makes an excellent L-Tryptophan Calmative Oral Gel. This product does not affect a horse’s reflexes nor slow him down. It only helps him to keep his concentration and control his nerves during stress of competition.
Kaeco Equine Distributors makes a whole line of excellent products that no serious horse or barn owner should be without. Go to www.Kaeco.com for more information and to purchase these items on line.
